Mindful Birding is a experiential nature walk and meditative session that will tune your senses into the world around you. If you think you have never meditated, or even if you are unsure if meditation is for you, this will show you the ways that it is constantly accessible in the world around us and does not require a formal seated practice to be effective. Birding is an inherently mindful activity, and this workshop will give you a chance to explore the connections more deeply. We will anchor ourselves in our breath, tune in to our mind-body connection, and explore the woods through a walking meditation. At the end we will take time to reflect and identify how deliberate mindfulness created shifts in the birding experience. We will use available seating at Reinstein Woods and conduct most of the practices while walking or standing still. Binocs are optional. As always, bring water.
