Madison - Birdathon Day

It's that time of year! The Feminist Bird Club is returning as team Yes We Pelican! in the Great Wisconsin Birdathon. We'll be out on Sunday, May 8th to see how many bird species we can find as we bird all across town. Join one (or more!) of several small-group outings offered on Sunday, or go birding solo and report back about what species you find!

You can RSVP to as many of the following events that you'd like when you register. Each is capped at 15 people to keep the group sizes manageable for our leaders. We hope you'll join us!

  • 7:00am-9:00am: Cherokee Marsh Conservation Park - North (directions)

  • 8:00am-10:00am: Cherokee Marsh Conservation Park - South (directions)

  • 8:00am-10:00am: Lewis Nine Springs E-Way (directions)

  • 10:30am-12:30pm: Warner Park (directions)

  • 11:00am-1:00pm: Hoyt Park (directions)

  • 3:00pm-5:00pm: Lakeshore Nature Preserve (directions)

New to birding? That's great! No birding experience is required to join us. Need binoculars? We've got you covered. Please indicate that you need a pair when you check out.

Prior to the event, you'll receive an email with details about where to meet at each park.

We're birding for a cause!

The Great Wisconsin Birdathon is also a fundraiser. We'd love if you could also help share our fundraising page with your friends and family to help us reach our goal! 50% of what we raise supports the Bird Protection Fund and important bird conservation projects across the state, and the other 50% goes to our chapter.

We're planning to use our portion of funds to put Birding Backpacks at all nine neighborhood libraries, thanks to a partnership with Madison Public Library. We'd love your support to make this project happen!
