NYC/Virtual - FBC Event Leader Training

Join us for a two-part exercise that will cover the basics and give you practical experiencing leading a birding trip.

We want to demystify the process of leading bird trips and promote best-practices for creating an inclusive space in the outdoors! Join us for a two-part exercise that will cover the basics and give you practical experiencing leading a birding trip.

Very Important first lesson: You do not need to be a bird expert to do this!! We promise!! You just need to be enthusiastic about birds and about making people feel welcome in the outdoors.

This two-part event is FREE and space is limited to 8 people. This event is limited to people in the NYC area. Everyone is welcome, but we especially encourage BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals to sign up! Please be sure you can attend both sessions before signing up.

Part 1: July 29 7pm-8pm (online) — Setting the stage

Part 2: August 7 9am-11am (in person) — Putting that learning into practice by leading your peers on a bird trip in a park (location TBD).

RSVP here on eventbrite!
