NYC - Winter Bird Walk in Prospect Park with Jen Kepler

  • Prospect Park Brooklyn, NY, 11218 United States (map)

For more information and to RSVP, please visit EventBrite ~

Join Jen Kepler on a walk in Prospect Park looking for weird ducks and other winter birds! We will meet near the Gazebo which is just inside the Parkside and Ocean Avenue Entrance and before the LeFrak Lakeside center. This entrance is close to the B/Q train at Parkside Avenue, has a set of bike racks, and there is (limited) parking nearby inside the park on Breeze Hill. accessible from the Lincoln Avenue Entrance. This walk will take us all around the lake, up Breeze Hill to check the feeders, and through the park to the Vale.

Accessibility notes: This will be primarily on paved roads, but there may be times we walk on natural ground/mulch. We may encounter steps in the Vale but can easily redirect our walk if accommodation is needed. Accessible bathrooms are available at Lakeside Center, as well as at the Wellhouse, which we will pass within the first half of the walk. Walk may exceed 2 hours, participants are welcome to stay as short or long as they like.

Tickets are Free or by donation. If you select the donation option, that counts as a ticket, so no need to also add a free ticket unless you need more than one.

*If you would like to borrow a pair of binoculars, please contact us at least 24hrs before the event.

Land acknowledgement: We recognize and appreciate that Prospect Park lies on land that has been stewarded by generations of the Canarsie and Munsee Lenape People. Today many of their descendants live in and around NYC and the Northeast.
