ABOUT HIKE CLERB

Hike Clerb is an LA based intersectional women’s hike club and 501c(3) founded in 2017 by changemaker, Evelynn Escobar. Inspired to take action by the lack of representation of people of color in the outdoors, Hike Clerb was born as a radical solution to this issue and more. We are equipping Black, Indigenous, women of color with the tools, resources and experiences they need to collectively heal in nature from Los Angeles and beyond.

ABOUT OUR GUIDE:

Haley Scott (she/her) is a birdwatcher and guide for Feminist Bird Club’s NYC Chapter. She was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, where she now spends most of her days birding. She is a recent graduate from the University of Vermont, where she established her love for birds and bird watching. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Studies and as a college student, she spent a semester as a birdwatching mentor; teaching elementary school students about birds and local wildlife. After receiving her degree in Environmental Studies, she taught environmental education for K-5 students at a local non-profit youth development organization in The Bronx. Haley is passionate about sustainability, conservation and promoting safe and accessible outdoor exploration opportunities for women, BIPOC and members of the LGBTQ community.
