Join fellow FBC members on a guided birding outing at Aldo Leopold Nature Center to practice birding-by-ear!
Our February event is designed to help you build confidence in your birding-by-ear skills. Winter is a great time to practice birding-by-ear because there are fewer species around to ID by sound, but still a lot of variation in what you might hear.
We'll be listening for woodpeckers, sparrows, brown creepers, waxwings, owls and more on this winter walk through the beautiful grounds of the Aldo Leopold Nature Center. Their trails are open to the public, so come join us to explore this beautiful, birdy property. Dress warmly as we will be walking slowly and focusing on IDing the sounds we hear.
Whether you are just getting started birding or have years of experience, all levels are welcome.
Please RSVP via EventBrite
NOTE: This in-person event pairs with our virtual session about birding-by-ear on Wednesday, February 16 at 7:00pm held on Zoom. Attendance at the virtual session is not required to participate in the walk, but we do highly encourage it! Register for the Zoom here.
