Join Madison's chapter of the Feminist Bird Club for a queer nature outing to celebrate Pride Month! No birding experience necessary.
June is Pride Month for the LGBTQ+ community! Join us at Picnic Point on either Thursday, June 16th at 6pm or Saturday, June 18th at 8:30am for a queer nature walk! The walk will be the same either time, so please only sign up for one date.
For more information and to RSVP, please visit EventBrite
RSVP is required so we can make sure our trip leader can accommodate everyone. These two outings are capped at 15 people each to make sure everyone can hear what's being discussed. Please only sign up for one of the dates.
Accessibility information: Picnic Point is part of UW’s Lakeshore Nature Preserve, and we’ll be walking through Picnic Point itself, Bill’s Woods, Biocore Prairie, and adjacent trails. We’ll probably cover ~2 miles on ground that is roughly flat (though with some slight hills) and mostly not paved. Please contact us directly (see email below) if you have questions about whether or not this event can accommodate any accessibility needs. If you'd like to know more about the site, view its Birdability entry here.
Binoculars are available upon request. You will have the option to indicate if you need a pair before you checkout.
