Join us on Sunday, August 20 at 9:00am as we search for birds at Governor Nelson State Park.Governor Nelson tends to be one of the first places migrating warblers begin to show in the fall! In addition to warblers, we’ll search for other woodland species like vireos and cuckoos.
Governor Nelson is a state park which has an entry fee of $8 if you do not have an admission sticker on your vehicle. If this poses a financial barrier for you and you would like to attend, please reach out to us at feministbirdclubwi@gmail.com.

Directions and Parking: We’ll meet at the parking lot for the pet swim area. There is a sign directing you to this parking area as you enter the park. It is a large, paved parking lot with plenty of spaces. There is accessible parking available. Click here for a Google Maps pin.
Accessibility information: This location is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. We will be walking a mix of flat and rolling terrain with a mix of grass and dirt trails that may be uneven in places. We expect to walk 1.5 to 2 miles during this event and will be moving slowly as we search for birds. There are restrooms at this location. Please contact us if you have questions about how we can meet your accessibility needs for this event.
Binoculars are available to borrow. You will have the option to indicate if you need a pair before you checkout.
