FBC NYC leads Jeana, Akilah, and Martha will be leading the 10:30am bird walk at Teatown Hudson River EagleFest this year. EagleFest celebrates winter waterfowl and the many (so many) Bald Eagles that make their home along this stretch of the Hudson River during winter!
The program includes thrilling live bird shows spotlighting birds of prey, bird walks where you can view eagles through spotting scopes, heated tents filled with educational displays and exhibits, crafts and games for children, food trucks, and more! Full schedule here: https://www.teatown.org/eaglefest-schedule/
You will need to purchase a ticket to EagleFest to attend. EagleFest will be hosting bird walks every hour on the half hour, so once you’re on-site you can bird as much as you want, with a variety of walk leaders. Perfect for learning different styles of birding!
When: Saturday, February 3
Where: Croton Point Park
Tickets: pre-event $35 adults/$20 children; $40/$23 at the door
Tickets can be purchased here
Accessibility notes: The site is quite hilly, although the areas with the tents are near the parking lot and are relatively flat. Navigating to viewing spots along the river requires walking on grass and up/down inclines, some of which can be fairly steep. Port-a-potties are available on-site, relatively close to the tents.
