Come out to Whitaker Ponds Saturday, November 18th to bird and restore native habitat!


Join in a collective act of stewardship with FBC.PDX, Portland Parks & Rec, Güero Bird Club, Seymore Gulls, and soon-to-be-renamed Portland Audubon.

We’ll bird, we’ll plant, we’ll have tea and snacks!
It’s an opportunity to meet each other and give a little something back to a beloved birding gem.

8 am - 9 am Birding
9 am - 11:30 am Planting

Come dressed for the weather and dressed for planting.
It’s going to be delightfully dirty.
No birding experience necessary! No planting experience necessary!
Bring your own binoculars if you have them, we'll have extras if you don't. See you there!

Free parking is available in the park and nearby streets.Transit: Trimet #75 bus line stops nearby; get off at the NE Columbia Blvd. and NE 47th stop and walk 6 minutes to the park.Restrooms: port-a-potty on siteAccessibility notes, as per Birdability Map:

Accessibility rating = 4/5. There is an accessible parking place, which does not have room for a ramp. Curb cuts are present to move from parking lot to trail or sidewalk. Parking surface is paved. Ramp slopes are perfect; for every inch the ramp rises, it extends out 12 inches (1:12 ratio).

Accessible portable restrooms are available. Trail surface is loose crushed stone/gravel.

Trail slopes are manageable; they follow the 1:20 ratio.

There are no benches along the trail or on the dock, but there is seating in the pagoda.
